Streams of Life Anglican Church News

Join us tomorrow, Sunday May 30th at Streams of Life for our 10:30a Worship Service either in person or on Facebook Live.

With the recent change in the Maine CDC guidance for gatherings, including Churches, wearing a mask at Streams of Life will now be voluntary. Personally, I am fully vaccinated and per the Bishop’s guidance to Diocesan Clergy who are fully vaccinated, I will not be wearing a mask during the service. (Each of you will need to decide what you are comfortable doing - it is a personal decision)

Church Seating will continue to be spaced 6-feet apart as they have been all year. We will continue to distribute the communion wafers in separate sealed packets and the communion wine in individual cups.

On Sunday, June 6th at 10:30 a, we will gather at the church for our Annual Meeting. We will not be holding a worship service on that morning, nor broadcasting on Facebook Live. This is our first Annual Meeting in two years. Many things did not happen over the past 16 months of the Covid Pandemic, including meetings of our Mission Council.

I want to encourage you to attend this meeting as we discern and plot our way forward as we begin to move out from under the Covid Pandemic. Please pray about serving on our Mission Council and or serving as delegates to our Annual Diocesan Synod.

Now to share some more personal information.

Approximately 18 months ago, I shared with the Mission Council my intention to retire in the Summer of 2021. The Council was going to begin to start a discernment process regarding the search for a new priest for Streams of Life. There was plenty of time to walk through this process; then the Pandemic hit and as you know the World began to shut down. The reality is that the process was never able to get going.I will be retiring from my Secular Position at LLBean on August 2nd and it is my intention to finish as your Rector with the last Sunday of July. We are putting our house on the market and as some of you know we will be living full-time in our RV Trailer and Touring the country over the next few years, returning to Maine in the summer months.

Bishop Steve Breedlove will be coming to Maine on June 19th and 20th, meeting with the Mission Council on the 19th and being with the whole church on Sunday the 20th. These will be important dates as he joins with our community to celebrate our ministry together over these past 10-years and guiding the church in your search for your next rector.

Transitions always have a sense of uncertainty to them, but we all need to continually trust in Jehovah Jira (Our Provider). He is the one that makes all things new every morning for great is His Faithfulness.

Let’s enjoy these 2 next months together and be in prayer for the way forward and discerning who will serve as the 2nd Rector of Streams of Life.
